1. Confirm the deposit exists in the Etsy deposit export
Download the Etsy Payments Deposits CSV from Shop Manager → Settings → Options → Download Data. Etsy describes this export as the report of Etsy Payments deposits made to your bank account.
The official deposit CSV is documented with Date, Amount, Currency, Status, and Bank Account Ending Digits. If the expected deposit is not present there, a bank-reconciliation tool cannot prove a missing bank posting because Etsy has not supplied that deposit row in the selected export scope.
2. Allow normal bank posting time
Etsy says that after a standard deposit is sent, the bank may take up to 3–5 business days to make the funds appear. Weekends and bank holidays can move the practical arrival date later than the Etsy deposit date.
That is why this tool defaults to a five-day matching window instead of requiring the bank posting date to equal the Etsy date exactly.
3. Search for processor names, not only “Etsy”
A valid deposit may not contain the word Etsy in the bank description. Etsy documents processor or entity descriptions including Adyen, WorldPay, Envoy, Stichting Custodia(n), and Etsy Ireland Limited for some bank flows outside the US.
For that reason, the reconciliation tool leaves the bank-description filter blank by default. Amount and date remain the primary evidence.
4. Check whether bank details recently changed
Etsy documents a five-day hold on funds after bank details are updated. If the issue started around a bank-account change or verification step, review Payment settings before treating the bank as the only possible cause.
5. Reconcile the sent deposits one-to-one
Load the Etsy Payments Deposits CSV and the receiving bank CSV. A clean result means each Etsy deposit has one unique eligible bank posting within the amount tolerance and date window.
If a row remains Etsy deposit not in bank, verify the date range, receiving account, bank sign convention, and posting delay. If it is still absent after Etsy’s normal bank-arrival window, Etsy advises contacting the bank for assistance.
What this check does not explain
This workflow proves whether an Etsy deposit row reached the bank. It does not reconstruct how individual orders, fees, refunds, ads, taxes, reserves, or shipping charges produced that deposit amount.
